The North Middle School Band Department Is made up of sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students. This outstanding program consists of three grade level bands. It Is the foundation for the performance groups that encompass our High School Program.
SIXTH GRADE BAND
The Sixth Grade Band program begins the summer after fifth grade with a comprehensive summer lesson program. The sixth-grade curriculum focuses on developing strong fundamental skills. The skills are aligned with our district and state standards in order to create well rounded musicians. The band rehearses daily and begins performing literature appropriate for the beginning level.
SEVENTH GRADE BAND
The Seventh Grade Band offers a music program committed to developing quality student musicians. Students are encouraged to develop skills in order to be able to perform independently and for others. They have a diverse selection of band literature that is of the highest quality for their intermediate level. Musicianship is an emphasis of their learning with additional performance opportunities to enhance their growth. The performance opportunities include Band Concerts, Solo and Ensemble Festival, Memorial Day Parade Marching, and other community opportunities. Students will also have an option to participate in the North Middle School Jazz Ensemble as an extracurricular activity.
EIGHTH GRADE BAND
The Eighth Grade Band consists of students who have developed many skills on their instruments. Refining these skills and focusing on musicianship is a necessary and rewarding part of this 3rd year experience. The band meets daily and each student is expected to receive a weekly lesson. Performances include annual Winter and Spring concerts, Honors Festivals, Solo & Ensemble, Pep Band, Memorial Day Program, Memorial Day Parade, and musical offerings to the Menomonee Falls community. Students may also participate In Jazz Ensemble as an extracurricular activity.
