Band & Orchestra Bunch March Newsletter
The April Band & Orchestra Newsletter is here! Inside you’ll find important upcoming dates, performance details, reminders, and highlights from our talented student musicians.
As we head into the final stretch of the school year, there are numerous concerts, events, and activities on the calendar, so please take a few minutes to read through and stay up to date on everything that’s coming up.
Evening of Jazz – Friday, May 1 at 7:00 PM
Get ready to swing into the 1920s! Join us for An Evening of Jazz on Friday, May 1 at 7:00 PM (please note the updated start time) in the North Middle School gym. Featuring electrifying performances by both the middle school and high school jazz bands, this Roaring Twenties–themed night will include fabulous décor, food and drinks, a silent auction, and nonstop great entertainment.
We’re also looking for a few volunteers to help coordinate this event – including a dedicated volunteer to coordinate the silent auction. This role would involve gathering donations, organizing items, and helping oversee the auction the night of the event. The planning committee will meet twice via Zoom (on March 12 and April 16 at 7:00 PM) to assist with event planning and coordination. It’s a fun, manageable way to support our band and orchestra programs behind the scenes.
If you’re interested in donating to the silent auction or volunteering – especially if you’d be willing to lead the silent auction – please reach out to mfbandbunch@gmail.com.
Tickets are required for entry and will go on sale in late March/early April—be sure to grab yours early and don’t miss one of the most fun nights of the year! 🎷
Spring Metals Drive
Our spring metals drive is right around the corner and we’d love your support! Join us on Saturday, May 30 starting at 8:00 AM in the high school football stadium parking lot and help make a difference by donating your scrap metal items.
Want to get involved? Click here to sign up to volunteer and help unload donations—it’s a great way to support the program and be part of the action. High school students can also earn volunteer credits for participating!
Volunteers Needed!
There are several board positions that are open. We are actively looking for:
-An Evening of Jazz Understudy
-Vice President
-Fundraising Director
Volunteers are the only way that this organization can be successful and continue to support Band & Orchestra at a high level. Please reach out to us via email if you are interested.
Derek, our immediate past president says, “This is an incredible group to work with. They are all awesome and dedicated. The time commitment is low for the significant impact the organization makes in the community.”
