Jazz Bands – NMS and MFHS

Both the high school and the middle school have jazz ensembles. NMS is led by Lonna Schickert and MFHS is led by Andy Hacker. The HS Jazz Ensemble meets three mornings a week at 7 am to practice.

All Jazz ensembles are dedicated to excellence in the performance of both traditional and contemporary jazz music. Members of the jazz ensemble are given the opportunity to experience the joy of preparing and performing the highest caliber repertoire from the jazz idiom. Each jazz ensemble performs in two concerts per year, including the popular Jazz ‘ N Java Concert.
